 Q: How does it work?

  • Our math tutors are some of the best in the country.  They are available to meet with you at the most convenient days and times for you.  Just tell us what you need help on, and we'll match you with a math tutor who can help in minutes.  One BIG reason most students turn to Math World Tutoring for help with their math studies is because we come to you.  Although most tutoring sessions are held at the student's home, it is ultimately up to you where you would like to meet with your tutor. Other common places are public libraries and your city's community centre.
You can find more information in the Get Started Tour: How it works
Q: What math subjects can you help me with?

  • Our math tutors are able to help you with Arithmetic, Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics at all levels from grade 1 all the way up to University.  Our tutors also help with test/exam preparation, math homework and building confidence.
Q: How do I get a math tutor?

  • Its easy - simply visit our website and click the "Sign  Up" button at the top of every web page. There you will be able to create your Student Account and choose the plan that is right for you.  Once we receive your information, a tutoring mentor will contact you to discuss the specific needs you require assistance in and as well as discuss the days and times you prefer to meet with your tutor. Once all information has been received, we will match you with a math tutor that is also available the same days and times you are. The chosen math tutor will then contact you to introduce themselves and also set up the place, day and time for your first tutoring session.
Q: Will my tutor simply give me the answers?

  • No, our tutors will never just give you the answer.  Our math tutors will help and guide you in tackling any problem you may have.  They will make sure you can not only solve the specific problem you are currently working on, but also answer any similar problem in the future on your own.
Q: Can I cancel my plan?

  • Yes. You can cancel at any time.  If you cancel, only the hours that you have used up with your math tutor will be charged to your credit card.  You will receive a complete refund for the remaining unused hours. A $25 PayPal administration fee applies to any plan cancellation and will be charged to your credit card.
Q: Can I put my plan on hold?

  • Yes. Just give us a call or send us an email with your intentions and we can put your plan on hold.  In fact, your hours on your plan never expire which means you can use only some of your hours for one class in one semester and then use the remaining hours for a completely different course the following year.
 Q: Who are the tutors?

  • Our math tutors range from active and retired math teachers, college/university professors to working professionals and undergraduate/graduate students from accredited universities. Every tutor must go through an extensive background check, criminal check and screening process.  If you are not satisfied with your current tutor, you can always contact us and request a new one.
 Q: How do I choose a plan?

  • Visit our website and click the 'Sign Up' button.  After you create your student account, you will be taken to Step 2 where you will be able to view all the different plans available. There you will be able to view prices and decide which plan best suits your needs.  Once you have decided on a Package, simply click 'Choose Plan' beside the one you have chosen. This will take you to the PayPal website where you will be able to review all the details of your purchase.  Once your credit card information has been verified, your credit card will be charged and the total number of hours purchased will immediately be added to your account.
Q: Is Math World Tutoring safe?

  • Yes.  All out tutors undertake an extensive screening process and background check.  We ensure our tutors come from other established companies and we always check their references.  All personal information given to Math World Tutoring is kept confidential and will never be shared with third parties.
Q: When are tutors available?

  • All our tutors are readily available.  Once you provide us with your availability, we will find you a tutor that lives close by and is available the same days and times that you are available.  Most tutors also work weekends and holidays.  Remember, you are the one in control. You can decide if you want to meet once a week or 5 times a week.  The choice is yours. If you need tutoring on a day different than what you provided to us originally, you must let the tutor know so that he/she can re-schedule with you.  All our tutors are flexible and will work with you so that everyone is happy.
Q: Can I work with the same tutor again?

  • Yes.  You will always be working with the same tutor that we find you from the beginning.  Even if you run out of hours and want to purchase a new package to finish off the school year, you will remain with the same tutor.  If you are not satisfied with your current tutor, you can always contact us and request a change.  A new tutor can be provided to you in as little as one day.  In the case where you would like to use any unused hours you may have remaining on your package for a new subject/course, a new tutor may have to be provided to you depending on your current tutors qualifications.  For example, your current tutor may be great at teaching you Algebra, but not so confident when teaching Calculus.  If that is the case, a new tutor will be assigned to you to take full advantage of our tutoring services.
Q: How often can I meet with my math tutor?

  • The choice is entirely up to you.  You can meet with your tutor as little as once a month or as often as 7 days a week.  You are in control of your destiny.  Most students meet with their tutor between 4-6 hours per week.  This is enough time for students to keep up with their current studies and not fall behind.
Q: How can I become a math tutor?

Q: What if my math tutor can't help me?

  • Although it rarely occurs, sometimes the student-tutor chemistry is just not there.  After all, they too are human, and nobody knows everything. In these extreme cases, students can request a new tutor. Simply contact our department and we will gladly supply you with a new math tutor that is an expert in your specific question/subject.  If you ever complete a session you were not entirely satisfied with, simply let us know and we will investigate it.
Q: Can I change my plan anytime?

  • Absolutely.  You can upgrade or downgrade your plan whenever you want.  Just call us at 647-236-0310 or email us at and we will be glad to help. The associated costs will be reflected as well.  For example if you upgrade your current plan from Plan A to Plan C, the new tutoring rate will take effect immediately.
Q: How do I pay for my plan?

  • We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.  All payments are made using PayPal as a secure server.  An account with PayPal DOES NOT need to be created in order to pay for your services.
Q: When will you charge my credit card?

  • Once you create your student account and have chosen one of our plans, you will be redirected to PayPal.  There you will be able to review all the details of your plan before finalizing payment.  If you have chosen a plan by phone when speaking to one of our representatives, an invoice will be emailed to you where you will be able to review all the payment details there.
Q: Will my unused minutes/hours "roll over" from month to month?

  • You may pause your plan whenever you want! Your hours NEVER expire.  You can decide to use ALL your hours in one semester for the same class or use a partial set of hours one semester and use the remaining hours the following school year in a completely different class. The choice is yours. We are very flexible with hours and can be used wherever and whenever.
